Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
