Both Deceased Students Identified in the Providence Campus Attack as Authorities Persist in Search for Killer.

Both young individuals who died in Saturday’s violent attack on the university campus were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their killer continued following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the only individual detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a ceremony on Sunday.

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, according to relatives.

The victim's identification was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of becoming a neurosurgeon and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a online post.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were wounded in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man taken into custody in a police operation at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and go in another, and that is the current situation over the last 24 hours or so.”

Community Anxiety

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “We know that this is likely to cause renewed concern for our city”.

The shooter opened fire inside a room in the engineering facility on Saturday afternoon, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm handgun, a authority reported to the news agency.

Police that searched the lodging recovered a pair of pistols and magazines when the suspect was taken into custody, as was reported.
