Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
