Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a Los Angeles Car Crash
Vince Zampella, the mind behind the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California at the age of 55.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.
The influential game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
